You need to talk with Kevin Watson, he’s been pretty heavily involved in serving at Munger Place. My feeling is that it’s an incredible model, but the way Highland Park did it might be cost prohibitive for many other UM congregations. However, I agree that the concept is spot-on and exciting.

There does seem to be twists that GOD shows us in our faith walk….just as I read HIS Word and it says ‘be anxious about nothing and through prayer & petition give your requests to GOD”…or “don’t worry about tomorrow, let tomorrow take care of itself”…I’m faced (or any of us are) with actual life situations in which someone I care about disappoints me by running from what I believe…I gave this to HIM, I’m told not to worry about it, I’m asked to turn the other cheek, or even knock the dust off my feet and move on.

Yes, following HIM and letting HIM be our LORD, can be a lonely road. It has greater rewards, HIS rewards, but the path HE places us on isn’t the easy one. The twist of choosing HIM over someone or something….

I agree with your response regarding being thankful that binLaden won’t spread evil anymore. I’m disappointed that people are making such a large celebration about a person’s death. My first thought is regarding a part of the book “The Shack” where the father who lost his daughter is shown by GOD that the man who killed his daughter is loved by GOD also. The point to this is that GOD loves all of us…even those who such as binLaden. Thanks for putting the proper perspective on this event. Grace is the lesson in this as well. We are taught to love and pray for our enemies…why? Because only with Christ in me am I capable of love…
